Oxbow Orchard grass is a green, fruity-smelling hay.
It has a slightly sweeter taste than ordinary hay and is very similar in structure to Timothy hay although they differ in their seed heads.
Because this hay is also low in calcium, it is an ideal substitute for Oxbow Western Timothy Hay.
Orchard grass can be eaten by rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, mice, rats, gerbils, and herbivorous reptiles.

Orchard Grass is a natural product and comes from a very large area. This means that every lot is different because it goes across different meadows. Natural products also depend on the seasons for their growth. .
The smaller packs of oxbow to 4 kg. Rather contain smaller pieces of Orchard Grass, this is because it is cut several times to fit in the bag. These are hand sorted.
Oxbow's larger packs being 11 and 22 kg. Have a longer structure because they are full bales. Full bales are obviously not hand sorted.
We have a delivery of Oxbow every 3 months and therefore always different lot numbers. This ensures constant variation in length, colour and structure. In the end, the quality always remains the same but we know from experience that some customers are fans of one lot and others are fans of another lot. We recommend, if you get a lot that your favourites like to eat, to stock up if possible. They are always long dates and this way you can be sure that you can give of your favourite lot for a while.
Unlike with our own hay --> Belgian natural hay, German Premium hay and German Pure Nature hay. These meadows are hayed once a year and so you have the same hay for a whole year because everything (per type) comes from the same meadow. Whereas Orchard Grass comes from many different meadows.
