JR FARM bee-friendly hay is packed 100% plastic-free and the grass carton (consists of 30% grass) has a natural green colour. The pre-cut holes can be easily cut out and the carton can immediately be used as a hay rack or a playhouse that can be nibbled on without hesitation.
What is meant by bee-friendly?
With this hay, JR Farm is making its contribution to an intact insect world, as their pastures are not mowed before 15 June.
This is because until then the colourful wildflowers, grasses and herbs are in full bloom and the insects and bees can feast on this fragrant natural buffet. Only then do they harvest their natural meadow hay, which is particularly rich in fibre and herbs due to its long growing period*.
* Note Jr Farm: The less intense green colour of the hay is due to its high crude fibre content, which is important for all rabbits and smaller rodents for tooth wear and healthy digestion. This is by no means a hallmark of poor quality.
